Focus
ICNCLST partnered with FUTURA and Potato Head to create Pointman – River Warrior, a public sculpture in Bali using waste materials collected across the island. The project aimed to merge art, sustainability, and social commentary, highlighting environmental issues while celebrating creative innovation.
Execution
FUTURA, known for pioneering abstraction in graffiti and developing the iconic Pointman character, translated his vision into a 888kg sculpture fabricated from discarded plastics such as motor oil bottles and water gallon lids sourced by Yayasan Kakikita. Installed in the courtyard of OMA-designed Potato Head Studios, the unveiling featured performances by Australian dance company Chunky Move, curated talks, craft beer, and Balinese food stalls. ICNCLST led the artist collaboration, experiential planning, and sustainable material sourcing to ensure both cultural and environmental impact.
Cultural Impact
Pointman – River Warrior positioned art as a platform for environmental awareness, transforming waste into a striking visual statement. The project fused FUTURA’s urban aesthetic with Balinese cultural traditions, demonstrating that sustainability can be both beautiful and socially meaningful.
