ICNCLST partnered with Google to bring Nina Chanel Abney into the brand’s Holiday 2023 program, translating search trends and curated gift picks into a visually striking artistic interpretation. The goal was to amplify Google’s Holiday 100 guide with culturally relevant, original artwork that elevated the gift-giving experience while showcasing Abney’s unmistakable point of view.
EXECUTION
ICNCLST coordinated the engagement from concept through production, guiding Abney’s creative vision to translate the Holiday 100 gift selections into original artwork. These designs were used to create exclusive Holiday Wrapping Paper, which was featured in leading national publications including Architectural Digest, Vogue, and Vanity Fair, delivering an elevated, tangible touchpoint for Google’s audience. This engagement positioned Abney’s work at the intersection of art, commerce, and culture, making her vision accessible to a wide national audience while reinforcing Google’s holiday messaging in a creative, culturally relevant way.
CULTURAL IMPACT
The project highlighted the seamless integration of art and commerce, with Abney’s signature aesthetic turning everyday consumer touchpoints into collector-worthy experiences. As her second collaboration with Google—following her 2017 work designing Pixel 2 cases and creating an interactive experience for Refinery29’s 29Rooms—this campaign reinforced Abney’s role as a culturally resonant artist capable of elevating global brand activations through creative storytelling.
